Matthew Beck is a trial lawyer who handles complex cases in the areas of white collar criminal defense, commercial litigation, including oil and gas law, and personal injury. Before joining the firm, Matt served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the District of New Mexico, during which he tried multiple jury trials in felony criminal cases. In 2018, Matt received the United States Attorney’s Award for extraordinary professional achievement related to his work trying three multiple-month racketeering trials to successful jury verdicts as part of the largest federal prosecution in New Mexico history. Since that time, Matt has used that trial experience to successfully represent companies and individuals facing government investigations and prosecutions, as well to represent both plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation, spanning from successfully representing clients in a catastrophic wrongful death trucking trial that resulted in the largest jury verdict in New Mexico federal court to representing oil and gas companies in bet-the-company litigation.
Matt began his career as law clerk to United States District Judge James O. Browning. In addition to a federal prosecutor, before joining the firm, he was a partner with the Albuquerque firm Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb, P.A. Matt graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico School of Law and currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors. Before attending law school, Matt was a golf professional in Albuquerque.
